"To start, I love our teachers at Van Buren because they are very student friendly. They help whenever you ask and the know your abilities; therefore, they will push you where you need and help in other areas. Also, our counselor is very friendly and inviting. Academically we could do better. We just got our first AP class, which is a very helpful class. Things I would change would be the school lunch. It is horrendous! Many of the students bring there own lunch or order for delivery. I would also like a change in the focus on academics instead of sports. Everything at our school revolves around sports. Academically inclined students get minimum to no recognition."

"At this school we offer Before/After school Tutoring, study hall and other classes where you have quiet time to do work. Different teachers offer different Extra Credit activities in case a student missed a few days or assignments. The scheduling process is easy to understand and is not as confusing as if it were a bigger school. The homework opacity is depended on the teacher, some are different than others. Some teachers base homework around games and activities that take place that day and some teachers assign homework the day of a game but does not have to be returned until the next day or two days, so very lenient on the workload."
