"Truman was a relatively easy school, mixed in races and ethnicity. I found no bullying during my time there and I only ever saw about 1 fight per year. The football team sucks however the teachers are good as long as you dont get the few who talk to you like a 3 year old."

"Truman isn't perfect, nowhere is. It has it's strengths and flaws. It's strengths would include a daycare in order to help teen moms, a wide variety of classes, and an evolving school system. However, it could work on getting student's more involved, and not supporting favoritism."

"I really like the band and most of my experiences with teachers have been great, but the community is trash in how students are treated; how students act towards each other; and how the administration staff will punish the innocent and give unequal levels of punishment to students. The only improvement I've seen since the raised tax is newer toilet paper and paper towel dispensers, even though both types were just fine before."

"I am teaching in my own community. I ve lived in this neighborhood for seven years, which is not so long, but this truly is my home and it feels grounding to serve the students and families in the community where I also live. The school itself serves pre-K-12 in one building, and it has been in the neighborhood for 20+ years, so the sense of community and connection with the neighborhood is strong. Many teachers send their children to this school, and a few teachers are former students! The board of directors of the school is constituency-based which means, instead of including mostly outsiders to the school who join mainly to be donors, the board is comprised of representatives from the various groups who have a stake in the school--parents, community members, administrators, teachers and students."
