"I like that the school was very welcoming and down to earth. I would like to see them make a change in their academic levels and also their athletic levels. They have let a lot of programs go because of funding and in the long run I believe it has hurt the school along with the students that attend there. They do on the other hand work pretty good on getting the student ready for college."

"I have went to Salina schools my entire life. My overall experience has been well, but of course I'd like to change certain things. The food has definitely improved. In a small town it matters what your last name is, or what church you go to. I hope the teachers stop doing that as well."

"Within my last two years of attending Salina High School, I have realized that the teachers do more than they are paid to do.They get to know the students, know somewhat about their personal lives, and attempt to work with them in difficult situations. Throughout my junior year, I have had superior teachers who have exceeded my expectations. My grades improved significantly, even though they were pretty good in the first place. Even though all the budget cuts were hard on everybody, Salina High School stepped up and become better."

"Salina HS is very unique because it is a tight-knit community with fairly diverse people. That being said, it is not a very good school, because there is simply not enough funding. There are quite a few kids from different towns, and the class sizes are increasing every year. There is simply not enough space to accommodate so many kids, so there is a shortage of both teachers and classrooms."

"I've grown up here, but I wouldn't put my children here for school. It is almost like they hire any teacher, and no matter what the students complain about, because the teacher is not helping them, rude to them, etc... They do not get fired, and trust me, they should. Overall, you can deal with it, but I wouldn't if I had less of a tolerance for ignorant people."
