"Lake Highlands High School is a public in Richardson Tx. My experience in going to the school I was challenged academically, but only in college prep, or AP classes. The sense of a school spirit is decent, but if I had to choose one area that I would like to see improvement, that would be it. I think that the school puts a little too much emphasis on just passing and not truly learning or mastering the study material. Also, the standardized test scores are not good at all in comparison to the other RISD public schools. The school's diversity is very broad and I think that that is a plus to attending the school as I have made friends from different countries and cultures."

"What I loved about lake Highlands was how much the teachers valued the students education. It was overall a pretty good school, only needing some minor improvements. I especially loved the AVID program which helps me in college."

"I personally didn't enjoy my time at LHHS, and I wish all the time that I'd transferred to another RISD high school. That being said, I'm still grateful for the experiences and culture I lived through now that I'm older and looking back. I felt dutifully unprepared for college and the real world after attending here, but you can't blame the facility entirely. I could have done more on my part with my grades, and I completely owe my acceptance into Southern Methodist University to one gracious counselor who wrote a last minute recommendation, but I still had a subpar time here. I think it would be more clear to say that while I had amazing teachers and faculty was accommodating, it was other students and the culture that I never got used to. This is coming from the girl who was a did it all- cheer, dance, other sports, study, language studies, volunteer clubs, and a part-time job. The climate just wasn't the kind that made you want to succeed naturally."

"During my time at Lake Highlands I was deeply involved within many school activities. I was the Captain of the football team and Wranglers, and prided myself on being very involved with the community and teachers. Many of the teachers are very caring about their students, but due to a very disorganized administration the ability to aid the students is deeply limited. Overall Lake Highlands is an amazing community with many deep roots, but until the correction of the administration occurs the school will not reach its "School of Champions" status."
