"Parish's environment is so extremely welcoming. We are always trying to change the way we learn to accommodate the students"

"We've had a very discouraging experience at Parish. The administration in particular is very uninterested in individual students unless the parents donate big time, as in over $10K per year. The Head of School Dave Maniaco and his assistant Provost Michelle really could care less about the little kids. The school lacks cohesion. The Head of Lower school has to be at both campuses as she is over Prek-4th grade, so leadership is further split."

"They school pretends to be "inclusive" and supportive of children with learning differences, but it's not true. They don't know how to help children with dyslexia, etc. In reality, once a child is in 1st grade, they are under pressure to learn at a certain pace, otherwise they are not offered a contract for the following year. There is a high drop out rate, especially mid-year in December."

"There were some good teachers there who truly cared about the students, but others shouldn't have even been teaching. Ever since the new Head of School took over, true concern about students went out the window and self promotion took over. They tout the school as being "inclusive", but so not true. They also say they work well with "learning difference" students. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Often completely disregarding the learning guidelines and accommodations recommended by experts. No dual credit classes. No weighting GPA even though coursework is much harder than public and other schools. Variety of classes were limited. At our time there, college guidance was a joke. I have heard there has been some improvements in that area recently . School spirit is practically nil. Practically more clicks within the adults than the students."

"Friendly parents, diverse student body. Many teachers are outstanding, and they are truly the school's assets. The head of school is trying to improve the school's rankings, and it seems that's all he really does. The Head of Lower/Middle/Upper School are aloof. The buildings are split which is very inconvenient if you have kids on both campuses."
