"I have been to at 3 different high schools across Texas in my high school career. I can easily say Smithson Valley is my favorite high school. I came in the middle of the school year but I had no problem making friends. At first I sat in the cafeteria alone for only three days. Then some people who saw me in their class asked my to join them. Most schools are a fend for yourself type of environment but this school was very nice to me. The administration is excellent. They really care about you and push you to pass. This school has great sports teams and theater is a very active group that does not get forced into a certain clique just because they have that class. The people in the school have also been very academically challenging to surpass in grades. This allows competition that will push you further without causing tension. I have only been at this school for about 2 months but I really wish I could have been here for since I was a freshman."

"The school itself is actually really good. The advanced classes prepare you well for college and really teach you how to manage your time with studying and extracurricular activities. The teachers are really awesome for the most part, and the electives they offer are really broad and interesting. School spirit is lacking but that has been improving since I graduated."

"Overall, Smithson Valley is a great school. Football is more important as a whole than Academics. There are lots of opportunities for students, but they're not easily accessible to all students."

"Great teachers and academics if you challenge yourself. There is a huge emphasis on sports rather than other clubs and activities, but there are still ways to get involved. However, the school spirit is extremely weak."

"I like all the friends I made, and some of the teachers are truly invested in their job and want to help you. Although the administration cares more about dress code than learning, and some teachers don't care about your education enough."
