"I love LASA. My only wish is that it would stay with LBJ High School. Those two schools were meant for one another and the experiences that I had with LBJ students - mainly through my involvement with the football team - are unlike many of the experiences of some of my fellow students who didn't play sports."

"The school is very rigorous, and very dynamic and in-depth learning. It is hard at many times to maintain a balanced lifestyle in their school environment."

"LASA provided me with the worst four years of my life. It created a burning hatred for learning. There is nothing good about this school. If you decide to attend, you were warned you are making the biggest mistake of your life. They encourage mental instability and act surprised when there are multiple suicides a year. No one likes LASA students, except for maybe 50% of the teachers. AISD hates LASA. Other schools hate LASA. Your friends and you hate LASA. LBJ hates LASA. Your parents hate LASA for turning you into a sad soulless individual. There will be small moments where you think going to LASA was a good decision, but those moments will be overshadowed by all the times you think why did I put myself through this suffering. There is no reward at the end all you get is a piece of paper saying "magnet endorsement" at the graduation. I'm begging you--SAVE YOURSELF!"

"I have been a student at this high school for all four years and I initially went to this school for the unique courses it offered. I am glad to say that I was not disappointed and this school provided me with some of my favorite classes I have taken such as Biotechnology, Medical Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science. Dozens of Advanced Placement courses are offered at this school and this has helped tremendously in preparing its students for college. The teachers and staff at LASA are dedicated to their work and the office hours provided by teachers prove extremely useful when students are learning difficult subjects."

"I loved coming to the Liberal arts and Science Academy (LASA)! The academics at the school are both rigorous and fun, and the teachers are the best I could possibly ask for. The only downside is a lack of monetary resources, in some cases, because LASA is magnet school in a poor school district. However, the incredibly string PTA helps get money as much as possible and supports the school fantastically."
