"What are you looking for. This is the question you need to answer to understand if you really should come to Ridgeview. In our case, we wanted the classical education with its rigor and its focus on an old fashioned study of the roots of America and the roots of the western world. We belie in objective truth and want to study it. Ridgeview is not an easy place, but if you love the values of classical education, it is the best school in Colorado. But it is the wrong school for someone who just wants an easy and fun time with little economic challenges. It is the wrong school for someone who is very politically correct and hates tradition. For our family, with six different children attending the school in all thirteen grades over the last decade, it was a good place. And even when it was the wrong place for one child, we still deeply appreciate the fact that it exists at all. Fort Collins is greatly blessed to have Ridgeview!"

"Ridgeview may not have the best standardized test scores or offer the most AP classes. However, the school's goal is more than simply "educating" students, in these standard senses. Ridgeview does offer excellent classes taught by passionate teachers, and provides students with a great education. But, at the same time, the school strives to develop the independent ideals, character, and overall thoughtfulness of every student. These latter qualities especially are becoming increasingly scarce in most schools. Ridgeview does have some drawbacks: no high school sports, limited resources(due to its size), and minimal AP and elective course options. However, the benefits from mainly small discussion-based classes and a liberal-arts curriculum more than balance these downsides. For a student seeking to have great conversations, delve into profound literature, and pursue great ideas in multiple fields of study, Ridgeview is the right fit."

"One of my favorite things about Ridgeview is the level of academic success they aspire to achieve - academically, the school is astounding. Not everything at Ridgeview is as impressive as the academics, however. The workload, along with the burden of not being able to fully express yourself, is terrible. Simply criticizing the school will cast you in a very different light in the eyes of many administrators. Ridgeview is bad for people who value: political neutrality, social liberalism, independence/self-sustainability in the modern world, and freedom of expression (not limited to speech, but also including action that is not hurtful or diminishing). Ridgeview is good for people who value: respect for authority, traditional American social structures, and religious faith (although the school, as a charter school, is not religious, it certainly caters towards a more religious base). That is all that I have to say about that."

"In general, this school exceeds many sets of expectations. Yet, it does fall short in some areas. The overall educational paradigm is flawed. As a classical school, they love to have multiple classes over multiple years examine the 'Masters' of western literature and philosophy. To this school these teachings are more core to what they impress upon your child than any other. While the resources and direction is more than ample to help a struggling student maintain or even improve, and the sciences taught are in-depth and knowledgable, the classical method described is misleading and flawed, inherently on its own. Nonetheless, while the school does have some very intelligent, diligent and patient staff some members are arrogant and snobbish because of their personal academic accomplishments. This school will stretch you to be better. Do not be surprised if you get into the college classroom and wonder, 'Why do I have to learn this again?'"

"Ridgeview is a community driven charter school that drives you to succeed. It helps educationally and is K-12."
