"Veritable is a rare kind of school that's puts emphasis on learning for the sake of learning. The environment at Veritas is one where the students are engaged in higher thinking and the teachers are there because they're genuinely want you to find beauty in every subject."

"Students cannot go to the teachers if they have an issue with another student. I had many issues and problems with bullying within my grade, and the teachers looked the other way until I was in such a bad position that I felt I had no other choice but to leave the school. Most of the kids here are white, upper middle class, Catholic/Christian/conservative and well off. If you are not in this group, you may have a harder time here. The curriculum on its own is good, however it seems the teacher quality has decreased throughout my time there. I'm sad I had to leave the curriculum, but I'm glad I got out of that situation. This school needs to teach the faculty to look closer into class dynamics and be more vigilant about bullying exclusion, and manipulation between classmates. By the end of my last year here, I was not welcome in the lunchroom and had to eat lunch in the upstairs hallway against my locker or in the bathroom. Many of my teachers knew about this situation and did nothing."

"I really loved the language classes. I took Latin and Greek and did very well, because the teachers who taught those classes respected me as a human being. The seminar class, which basically consisted of reading and discussions "great books" which to them were "christian books", was very oppressive. My opinion was not respected or heard. The other students were religious and cold speak their minds. I, as an atheist, was seen as a problem."

"Only a handful of teachers were willing to show respect for me. I worked hard, but often felt oppressed as a bi liberal in a community of religious conservatives. Many teachers were not kind to me and did not value my input in discussion. The few teachers who were approachable changed my life and taught me well. I came out very knowledgeable and comfortarble in the areas those few teachers taught, but most classes were not conducive to my inclusion."

"As you start as a freshman it is the worst, especially if you are not accustomed to charter schools. The teachers are too strict, you have to contribute useful ideas, etcetera. By the time you graduate you will understand what the mission of Great Hearts is and will appreciate the student and critical thinker that they have molded you into. I recently started college and so far it has been a breeze and I accredit that to Veritas' socratic method of teaching."
