"My experience at Aztec High wasn't the greatest given the events that that took place on December 7th, 2017, but the closeness and strength in my community helped keep me afloat and striving to overcome the hardships and carry on to the next stepping stone in life. Since the stress of the event, many good teachers have left. I would love to see more teachers who are invested into their students and learning opportunities instead of just wanting to cover the material and move onto the next, which is why many students, including myself sometimes, would never have a thorough understanding of subjects but would just have to move on as to not fall behind on work. This is an ongoing problem that occurs in many schools, and I believe that before a school should hire a new teacher, they should do so based on their dedication to education and not solely just because they have a degree in that field."
