"Hawthorne is an amazing school with a variety of opportunities for every student. with programs like the engineering academy, which won the top individual prize at the first robotics competition in 2005, and the international baccalaureate program. they are the only IB world school in the south bay that offers the diploma. and there is criminal justice, a program that allows students to receive the right experience, skills and knowledge required for a career in criminal justice. i belive this school could improve if they were funded money for other programs like VAPA that got eliminated this year. there shoud as well be funding for the science and engineering programs, some which i belive to be some of the best programs in the school, so more students get to experience with experiments, some which i did not get to participate in as well as many others."

"Since the first time I walked into Hawthorne High School everyone was very kind. There are many programs on campus, especially for minorities to get into college, that are very beneficial. The teachers are very supportive and great."

"Hawthorne his a good school. After working here I have realized that it is not what I thought. I had always thought it to be a bad school but I now see that I was wrong. There are great kids here who are goal-oriented and know what they want their futures to be. They work hard and take advantage of the assistance offered. The teachers strive to get their students ready for college and some go above and beyond to help the kids. The Leadership Staff is great and very student minded. Overall a very good school!"
