"I enjoyed attending Claremont High School for four years. Many of the teachers are not very good because they do not teach.. but expect us to just read the book without any other instruction. I had to teach myself for many of my classes and it did not always end well."

"Claremont High School is a truly amazing High School with a handful of world-renowned colleges right down the street, so taking college courses as a high schooler is incredibly within reach. However, the social atmosphere is incredibly liberal, so if you are even slightly conservative they will eat you alive. The majority of the teachers are incredible and really connect with their students in a variety of subjects from Calculus AB to Bella Voce (our advanced women's ensemble), but out Chemistry department is less than ideal. Our school is also an International Baccalaureate school, which means that we offer full IB schedules, AP classes, and even a mixture of both. We have a multitude of clubs and groups on our campus from Key Club to Breakfast Club (a club in which the students meet before school and eat pancakes while discussing current world politics). All in all, having a school in the city of trees and PhDs is an amazing opportunity, but of course, not all schools are perfect."

"Compared to nearby schools, Claremont offers a variety of activities for students to become involved in, both academically and for leisure. Sports teams are not a priority at Claremont High (except maybe football). The cheerleading team practiced on the grass and in an old cafeteria last I heard. Depending on what path you choose is what quality the teachers are. IB takes the good teachers. AP takes the ok teachers. Regular classes are just as much work as IB classes. TOK was a waste of time-- each class was different and it was impossible to predict the mood of many IB teachers."

"Claremont High School is a nice school with challenging academics. Although it's priorities with extracurriculars is sometimes questionable, it helps students grow with intense AP and IB. Teachers are overall okay, but most are kind and amazing."

"The school throughout my 4 years showed me a lot about the diversity offered in California. The classes were not always to my liking but they were challenging enough to motivate my growth. Most teachers were very cool, but you would basically need to check yourself to keep it with grades in order to balance everything."
