"I like the friends and such I made at the school, but facility improvements are very needed. The teachers are very good, but they need more of the necessary materials to teach their subject effectively. The school is also budgeted poorly on spending funds for things such as the new smart boards that teachers barely use"

"We don't have enough materials & the cafeteria runs out of food. The fruit is nearly rotten. Bathrooms break down & are closed for repairs many times a year. Drivers speed on the road & risk hitting students or vehicles. There are no crossing guards or teachers. We risk life and limb just to cross the street. Many times lunch is undercooked & icy or it's ingredients will barely be safe to eat. The lettuce in salads rotting with chicken; it's crunchy with ice. There are few vegetarian options for students lunches; the workers adding meat into a dish that would be fine without it. Veg. lunchs come once in a blue moon with the presence of PB&J's, a barely edible side salad or yogurt. Rooms are usually left with few desks and too many students, pops. at 30-45 students per class, nearly 50 in PE. Some have to stand or sit on a stool or stay on the floor. Tiles on the cafeteria ceiling are falling, a safety hazard. Fans are rickety & sway; another hazard"

"I really love to attend to this school. I have fun all around school and receive respect from everyone. There is good teachers and supervisors and I understand that we aren't perfect in any way ,but we try to be together as a community and have pride to be in mar vista."

"It is a good high school to be in enroll with, it has pools, a lot of diversity whether in classes and clubs. But it will be a better school if there were more healthy food in the cafeteria, more places to sit in, and more security."

"I would like to see that classrooms would be in better condition. The arts and the buildings are not well kept and very old. They need to support there Arts program. They had amazing teachers and overall it was a good experience."
