"El Cajon Valley is a school with a lot of heart and diversity. The students there all come from varying backgrounds, ethnicity, stories, and experiences. Coming here really opens your mind to the world and learn what kind of struggles others may be facing. Students and staff here show pride in themselves, the school, and each other."

"One of the poorer schools in the district because of the students' socioeconomic situation. Very little activity and sports are starting to diminish due to lack of involvement. ASB room is small and dingy."

"People say that El Cajon Valley High School is a bad school, kids get into many fights, drugs, and gangs. But that's not the case at all, there is so much more to get from this school than any other. ECV has amazing teachers, that care not just about their students but their student's education, they want us to succeed in life. They teach us the importance of school, jobs, graduating, they teach us things that we will need in real life. What life is like outside of tight school, and I don't think I would be more prepared for real life if it wasn't for the school and teacher there, showing and telling me what I really need to know."

"El Cajon Valley was an amazing school to attend. The fact that every teacher takes a personal stake in each and every students success and achievement is instrumental in helping every student be the best they could be. The admin also made sure that the students had the resources available to them, not only would help them pass their class, but that also helped them discover what they want to do with their lives after high school. For example, if a student is passionate about music they can go to one of the many open mic nights that are held throughout the year, or they can join the photo journalism club that documents all of the school events. So that the students gain exposure to different things. The sports programs at ECVHS are also a big part of the culture. ECVHS is one of, if not the most, diverse school in all of San Diego County. ECVHS is a school that is unlike any other and has a culture that makes students become great after they graduate."
