"Growing up in a low-income community did not seem to have a promising career outlook for me. Attending Orange Glen High School as a woman of color in the highly conservative, developed, and overpriced community of Escondido changed my perspective of possible careers I could study for. The staff at this high school taught me the skills necessary to engage in and perform critical thinking, so as to be prepared to formulate my own conceptions about society and how to best put my talents to use to help my community be truly representative of the struggles of the working classes and people of color. I attribute my articulation and intellectual development a product of the supportive and talented faculty that is present at OGHS."

"Dance was the best experience I ever had at Orange Glen. Ever since my first spring showcase which was sophomore year, it has changed me and my love for dance grew."

"The teachers are willing to invest time and effort in their student's success like staying hours after school, providing rides, giving free information, and buying nice school supplies to make class activities easier and more fun. The students can either be very driven or not much at all but it depends on who you decide to hang around and what classes you take. The AP courses at this high school are in depth and provide good preparation for college."
