"Julian High school is unique in that you know everyone, and your teachers all know you and want to help you succeed. There are a ton of local scholarships available for such a small community, and sports are really for everyone and are not intimidating. The downside is that there are not a lot of extracurricular to choose from if you are not into sports. Classes are bare minimum also."

"The academics are alright. I think it was a little too easy, but that was my opinion. A student can give themselves more of a challenge by joining extracurriculars and loading up more on honors courses (but there is a limited number of these). The biggest pitfall of this school is the math program. It is very small, so I think the teachers are spread a little too thin, as they are not only teachers, they have other responsibilities within the school that can take away from instruction of the students. It wasn't too bad, I was able to do the little bit of catching up that I need to in college. Other problem is that they didn't have a science lab when I went here. I had to pick up skills on the spot in college, but again, it wasn't that bad catching up. I know they just built a new replacement building that has labs in it, though. I'm sure the science side will improve a lot now. I was more than prepared academically for science though."

"Honestly, it's pretty good. You will know everyone, seeing as there are only 170 or so students, freshman-senior. It's like a big family. From what I know, there have been very few problems with bullying. I was never bullied once, in any of the schools in Julian, middle school included. There is a lot of small town pride. I'm still very close with my friends, even after graduating"

"The teachers really care about your success and they are very fair in their grading. They encourage you to think for yourself and to really apply what you have learned in the classroom to real life."

"It was difficult being a science major and not having any lab experience in high school. This high school simply does not have a lab. I had a bit of a shock when I had to use lab instruments and techniques in college."
