"I'm graduating from Poway High this spring and I'll be sad to go. I've had a lot of amazing teachers and experiences at the school, and I hope everyone who has the opportunity to takes advantages of the courses PHS has to offer. One thing I will say, though, is that I find the counseling department to be grossly lacking in competency and efficiency. I understand that the student body is large at Poway, but to be honest, the most challenging part of the college application process has been trying to deal with the counseling department so that I can get done everything that needs to get done. The campus is also not very diverse. In my graduating class, out of 542 students, about 90% of the people are from affluent, white families. So, if you don't mind having an incompetent counseling department and a majority white campus then I would highly recommend Poway High."

"I like that Poway High School pushes me to try harder in academics and extracurriculars. The teachers defiantly work the students through rigurous course assignments. Also there is a club for every student on campus whether black student union or republican club. One of the things I do not like is that our school is the lack of diversity among students and also that the teachers are stricter in easier classes, resulting in lower grades for students in non ap classes."

"Liked: semesters. The band program. Disliked: lack of info on international eductaion(colleges). Lack of study abroad opportunities and no options in Asia. Add an Asian language course option."

"Poway High is a pretty good school; it's mostly white, however, which can be pretty upsetting for minorities. The gay community is a roller coaster too. I'm in college now, at a school pretty similar, and all I can tell you is tht you need to make friends outside the school to be truly happy. The world has more to offer than Poway. But it has good science-y programs."
