"San Diego High School International Studies has a reputation for having one of the highest quality educations in California. Although I'd agree with this, and the curriculum of most classes seems to be successful in teaching students, I would not say that this is a very good school. The ratio of students to staff is extremely high, and because of this all the classes feel large and overcrowded, taking away from focus on work. Also, the very limited number of counselors ensures that no single student gets exactly the help they need. The counselors seem more concerned with making sure students take AP and IB classes than making sure the student is a good fit for the class. The teachers there work hard, and many are great at what they do, but some teachers seem to get away with providing the least possible learning to their students. Overall, the academics at this school are good but the staff infrastructure could be improved upon."
