"Entering into a new high school is scary for anyone, but even more frightening being a senior while doing so. The only thoughts racing through my mind was how I would fit in to this new place 14 hours away from what I always considered home. With the administration and my counselor Pat Gilbert I felt welcomed the very moment I stepped onto the campus. Not only was I welcomed by them but also by the teachers and I found myself building the kind of relationships with them, not expected from such a short period of time. Something that always helped me with confidence growing up was my love/ talent for sports and being a new golden eagle on campus I was able to join all of the ones I had been involved in before. With that I only grew stronger relationships that I know I'll stay in touch with because of the kind of impact they had on my life. Not only including that but the opportunity to join clubs held such a wide variety and allowed me to be a larger part of the school."

"Clovis West was a great school when I attended. Many of the teachers took great interest in helping their students succeed and were usually very fair."

"Terrible school. The food is horrible. Teachers do the bare minimum for the most part. Counselors are generally not helpful. Curriculum does not prepare you for the real world."

"There isn't a lot of college help. Yes they might say that a scholarship may be avalible but that's it. There's no help where the students can know of important information to prepare for college. There isn't a lot of diversity. Whites, Blacks, and Mexicans are the main races found on campus. Sports are celebrated a lot, perhaps the most compared to anything else. There's only one cop on campus, a cop that you can't even find on campus. The food isn't very healthy. It's the same things everyday. The only vegetarian option is salad, however that has meat in it also."

"I like how Clovis West teachers and staff are willing to take time out of their day to help students with their academics. I want to see a change in possession of books. Instead of having to take most of our books home, provide each class with a class set and a students set. If that is too much money, turn to online resources such as a tablet or computer to carry."
