"I liked the block schedule, the devotion of some teachers, the band program, some of the people who went there, and the range of extracurriculars. I would like to see more rigorous vetting of potential teachers and more support and learning opportunities for current teachers to improve."

"I love the block system in our school. It gives us a huge amount of time to focus in class and actually understand a particular subject for a certain amount of time. The teachers actually get to know you and help you even more."

"My experience at El Cerrito High was okay except for my senior year when we had got a new principal. Let's just say everything went down the drain and was completely chaotic."

"what I liked about El Cerrito Highschool is that they tried to help prepare me for college. I was apart of this program called USC, which stands for united students of color. In our meetings, we learned about acceptance rates and what we needed to do to make ourselves competitive for college. We had volunteers help us write our essays for our college applications and they gave us a list of scholarships along with test preparation for the SAT."

"At El Cerrito High there's lots of ethnic diversity, the campus is fairly new which makes the school aesthetically pleasing. The faculty and teachers are really great and you get to know them, they are very open to students. One thing that I personally think is great are the two academies :Ita and Media. Both academies offer a range of internship opportunities, community developement and scholarship opportunities. Overall my experince has been extremely positive. I recommend El Cerrito because it prepares students for college readiness."
