"It's school. The teachers are great. You have all your 7 classes and finals, but it feels different. Sure it might not be heavily funded, but the community here is very accepting and real."

"Newport High School has something for almost everyone. They have a lot of clubs, sports and great programs such as the IB program and Expanded Options Program which allows you to get dual credit through the community college. Plus, for the most part, there is no bullying and most kids and teachers are accepting. However, I have dealt with a lot of less than pleasant teachers and staff members at Newport High. There are quite a few who exercise favoritism, and some who even bully students. I have been treated very unfairly by some of the teachers and staff members and have been made to feel dumb by quite a few of them. They also push the IB program so much, that any student who is not doing it is viewed as an outcast."
