"In general, South is a great school. Academics are really good and our theatre department is amazing. The only downside I would say is that communication between students and administration is sub-par and unorganized in general."

"I really like the academic atmosphere, as there are a lot of challenging classes available for students, including the IB program and many different AP classes. Because of the proximity to the University of Oregon, I had the opportunity to take a couple classes there my senior year, and I even got an internship working in the microbiology labs there. The classes are meant to challenge you and make you learn something. The teachers overall are very nice, helpful, and good at their jobs, and I am still friends with a few of them. The library is also very useful, equipped with computers, lots of books, helpful librarians, and bean bags for naps during finals week. Overall, my experience at South Eugene High School was a good one."

"Overall South Eugene High School has provided me with an amazing high school experience. South is a very positive environment, everyone gets along and the teachers all have a very positive energy about them and all make an incredible effort to connect with students. Similarly, the academics at South are equally great. All the teachers are very knowledgeable in their specific subject and go above and beyond to make sure all students understand the material.Athletics are also very nice at South. With great coaches and support, students are able to partake in athletics and often find themselves outperforming other schools in many of the sports South offers.South also has a very good music program. From the bands to the choirs to the orchestras, the music department at South has done an extremely good job of getting students with no musical experience into the arts.South has been a great place to go to high school and has more than prepared me enough for college."

"SEHS is a great school for academics. There is a drug problem, but it hasn't affected my learning. The teachers are good, especially Zach Stewart for Honors 9 English and European Literature."

"I did not participate in sports, so I cannot say much about that category, but everything else about South meets or exceeds expectations. South is an academically rigorous school where the majority of teachers are enthusiastic and involved in their subjects. On that topic, the students are often pressured to take harder courses than they may be prepared for or would be healthy mentally or emotionally. On occasion, students opinions will be disregarded in favor of assigning higher level courses. Unfortunately, South does not seem to get enough funding or support, so anything not based off of the attitude of the people in the school is fairly mediocre."
