"It is a wonderful school in a small town. Staff is super friendly and helful. School is nestled in the city of La Grande, is located in eastern Oregon, where you can be in commute with nature, and a part of a lot outdoor activities, such as cross country skiing, hiking etc."

"While there were some excellent teachers here, LHS was often unorganized and unreasonable. It was unfriendly to students wanting to excel, and worked against me when I searched for greater challenge in my education. AP choices are minimal at best, and GPA isn't weighted to offset the relative difficulty of AP courses. Many classes are populated with loud students and a long-broken teacher. The lack of diversity in the school was largely a result of the town, which was almost entirely white and heavily conservative, leading to many LGBTQ students remaining in the closet. I wasn't prepared for college. I spent much of my first year playing catch-up with people who'd learned to study because they'd taken difficult classes, and because they had a more complete understanding of foundational concepts. I didn't learn these things in high school. I didn't know how to appreciate an education. Overall, despite the excellent educators, I would recommend against enrolling here."

"I enjoyed having teachers who were real people, and who were so caring and patient. They truly were some of the best people in the community!"

"Despite the small town and the almost constant snowfall, the staff at La Grande High School makes a bright environment. The building itself is under construction, and my time spent in class almost always included wearing 2 jackets. The school counselors do show interest in their students, and I can tell they try as hard as they can to keep up with all that is on their plate."
