"Catalina Magnet High School is overall a great High School, One of the many things great about Catalina is that it has many JTED courses that prepare students for future careers.it also has many students all from different countries and personally i like that because i can learn about other cultures and traditions."

"The school promotes individuality, there is little to no hand holding, but it is available when needed. This school is one of the most, if not the most, ethnically and racially diverse schools in the district. My experience has been wonderful thus far, I have made numerous friends, and very few enemies, most of my teachers have neutral or positive relationships with their students. Our culinary arts program is amazing and despite the budget cuts, we have managed to scrape by, albeit at a significant loss, However, we are seriously understaffed, we have at the most, 3 counselors for about 800 students. The provided lunches are also heavily underseasoned and gross. We have an infestation of roaches, unruly students whose only achievement this year was to break every window in the school, we also have semi-annual (or bi-weekly if the friendly neighborhood asshats are feeling frisky) fires, and depressed janitors. Other than that this school is great!"

"Though i would not have picked Catalina as the high school i wanted in middle school, we all have to learn to move forward and deal with what we are handed."

"A lot of the teachers are really great and there seem to have no problems. It is the students who make things difficult for many of the teachers. And a lot of teachers try their best to control their students, but eventually learn that a lot of students do not care about their education. All in all, the students make the school."

"Many teachers put in lots of overtime to help students, they put in lots of work which they never are paid for. Many teachers care while of course there are some that could care less, most try their best and work with students positively."
