"Bard did a great job preparing me for college. After entering college I found my course work easier than the work I was doing at Bard. The professors were a great asset to my high school experience. They were extremely encouraging and were always available to help. I would recommended Bard to any middle school student who wants an amazing high school."

"I've attending Bard High School Early College ( BHSEC) for four years. Here I've learned how to flourish as a student, but also what it means to become an adult. Bard has a heavy work load and you must manage your time.If you struggle there are teachers that will help you, but the process is something an individual must be motivated for. The bonus for all the stress you endure is two free years of a private, liberal arts college education. Ultimately, you will gain a sense of comfort and friendship as the staff can be friendly at times. Academics are rigorous and entrance into the school is extremely competitive at a 4.2% acceptance rate. Overall BHSEC is a school where a student will enter nervous, but also with goals and they will leave as an intellectual human being who has accomplished them. Not to mention the bonus of an associates degree at 18 !"

"My current experience in Bard is getting harder and unusual for me. I am for the most part getting used to some of the classes and understanding how to perform well in them for the college program. This will enable me to be an outstanding student and be quite of a standout to colleges. Bard in Freshman year was new and weird for me because I had to adapt to this type of school which doesn't have desks in rows, but a circular seminar style which helps all of us participate in discussions or helps us to be more of an active learner. If I could change one thing about this school, it would be its gym because I think we need a gym so we can be open to more sports like basketball and volleyball, but overall this school has helped me and is helping me progress as an active learner and a leader."

"Bard High School has exceptional teaching and manages to be challenging without having the competitive feel that many of the specialized high schools have. Although many comments seem to indicate that the work is overwhelming my son, who is now in his second semester of 9th grade, has not found it to so. He usually has 2-3 hours of homework a night which is manageable. The teachers all seem genuinely committed to helping the students and the small class size (15-20) means that they get much more attention than is typical and that the teachers are also always available if students need help with their work."

"The course load is a lot but the friends and experience you have there outways that. Bard is a small diverse school where you can meet a ton of people. You also get your Associate's degree upon graduation. If the school was bigger than it would feel more like high school."
