"I had a really hard time in school and this high school didn't have the means to help me at the time. I personally had a bad experience going to this high school where the most inspiring course I took was the NJROTC program. I have heard that the school has gotten a lot better since I graduated in 2009 implementing AP classes and encouraging the students to apply themselves in school."

"Overall this school is a great school to get involved with extra curricular activities and make friends. I wish that there is more support in the arts like funding. The campus is beautiful, nice ocean view."

"I love being at Monterey High . The school is defifitely all inclusive with no evidence of bullying. I like that there are different academies with the school and I am getting a great education with engaged, caring teachers in my academy. I wish there would be more funding for the music department ."

"I loved my experience at Monterey High. I made sure that I was as involved as possible to make the most of my high school experience. The thing I enjoyed the most about this school is the opportunity to join college prep academies. These academies require applications and there are three of them. I am in the MAOS Academy which stands for Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Sciences. These academies give students a better opportunity to build relationships with their teachers and peers and experience incredible field trips. One big thing I would like to see change is how to admin treats the students. Our admin is very hard on students and they do not relate to us well. They tend to distance themselves and only attempt at building relationships with us when they feel as though it will benefit them or the superintendent is on camp watching their every move."

"Monterey high is a great school but lacks providing its students with connections. Though some classes are just busy work a few teacher actually care for the student's education."
