"Besides the two (or three) student deaths that happened throughout my four years there, Hayward High hasn't had much upsetting events happen lately. Less students are getting involved with drugs and fights, more are going to college, but please do avoid this school if possible"

"I have been here for almost four years. Hayward high, students teachers relationship like friends. There are many school activities through out the school year, these activities help students release their pressure. Overall, it is a good public school."

"It has been great in Hayward high! I've built many connections with the teachers, got to make many new friends and participate in all the clubs and fun activities that they (HHS leadership) plan. Most recently we had a college night in our cafeteria. There, I got to meet and explore many colleges that I've never known about. Plus, in the end we got to see who would get a $500 scholarship! The clubs here are really cool too. There are so many to chose from, math, Biology, garden, mandarin, art, etc. The counselors area huge help to me. They've recommended classes or opportunities that they think that I might like, it's a great help! All the teachers that I've had so far seem to show a great liking to what they are teaching. My math teacher would make us do coloring sheets and make posters what we are learning in her class and my piano teacher makes us learn how to play a song by ear. The latest song we did was "if I ain't got yo" by Alicia Keys ( I couldn't stop playing it for days)."

"It's unique in a way you can sort of learn to love. I loved the diversity the most and, in turn, the openness everyone seemed to have for everyone else. I met some amazing people!"
