"The teachers and staff are great, the student body is where the school suffers. The science labs are all being renovated to provide an even better academic environment for all the sciences."

"I liked how much the teachers invested in the students and actually set aside time from their day to make sure that we had everything we needed."

"Von Steuben is one of the most diverse and multicultural environments I've ever become a part of. I definitely love that you can learn about different cultures and different experiences through these students."

"The diversity of the school really piqued my interest because I didn't want to be in a judgmental space throughout high school. Because it's on the smaller side, compared to other Chicago public high schools, everyone is kind to one another and we all know each other and cheer each other on. We want to see each other succeed and we push each other to be the best possible people. Of course, there were some students who didn't care about their future at all and I wish that was different, even though that isn't the school's fault. Also, some of the staff focused on unimportant things that they thought would help the school, but really just annoyed us all and did nothing for us at all."

"I liked the 8th period lunch because It made less time at school and more time of rest. The less time I am in school the more i have to rest. That resting gives me more time to be more alert and learn. Based on how early school is being the fact that I have 8th period lunch made school shorter and I have time to reciprocate on how what I did in school and what I need to improve on. Even If most of the teachers did not teach me to my full understanding, being home early gives me more time to study and learn more about what I need to improve on my weak subjects."
