"Bronx Science has given me opportunities I never would have had if I went to another school. That being said, it is very easy to get crushed in the ridiculous amount of pressure the school puts you through. I would say that it was easy for me to get help from the guidance department though, and that the school does offer many services to students who are struggling. Teachers generally teach for the tests, but once you get to higher level classes you can truly explore your passions and it becomes more about learning for the sake of learning (note: take Post-AP Chem if you can! It's a 10/10) It's honestly hard to fail a class because there are so many ways for you to improve. The teachers hold Small Group Instruction at least once a week (you don't even have to go to your teacher for help, if that's an issue. Ask other teachers as well) and NHS members tutor in the library. The only way I could imagine a student doing badly is if they chose not to be proactive about their learning."

"I'm a freshman at Bronx Science. and while not experienced, I feel that in the mist of maintaining the school's reputation as well as turning students into machines, they've lost all sight of how we feel. Teachers crank out work and insane tests to no end. I have a high average and I say this. Students are not just machines that you constantly test and then send off to college. We are human beings. I've completely disconnected from my friends because I'm doing work 24 hours a day. All the guidance cares about is discipline-insane punishments for cuts or even just being late to a class more than once, as well as things like out of building passes that make this seem like a jail. It all goes under the category of them just not caring. Also, -The bathrooms aren't useable -Fire drills and period transitions are unsafe -School food is terrible -School starts way too early for a school that requires such a long commute for most. Science shows that tired students can't learn."

"I loved the academic opportunities that I really couldn't find anywhere else, and the willingness of the student body to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone. I started taking AP science classes my sophomore year, whereas these classes are not available in most other high schools until senior year. The clubs are numerous and appeal to all different interests, and the administration lets you know exactly what you need to do from day one to prepare yourself for college. But, there was a lack of school spirit, it being a vastly commuter school. School games/meets have a very low attendance rate by the rest of the student body. Also, many students stick to their ethnic/cultural groups and see no need to branch out, making the social scene a bit exhausting."

"The Bronx High School of Science is a wonderful school that gives a variety of opportunities to students who ask for it. Of course, there may be a good amount of homework but that amount depends on you and what course you plan to take. Overall, there are great teachers, a nice mix of students and an incredible academic enviroment!"

"A very relaxed, but great academic environment. The school offers a lot of support for their students."
