"Massive school that pushes you academically even in the most basic classes. School has many ways to get involved through various clubs and societies. School is also very strict and give hours for petty things."

"I went to SVHS for my first three years of high school and had to transfer to an online school for my senior year. I was placed in one of two advanced programs, and many of us couldn't handle it. Not because we were dumb; all of us were bright, creative, and hard working. But when the class environment is mixed with those who don't care about their education in regular classes, it makes learning a lot harder and a lot more frustrating. The school food is fine, not great, but if I forgot my lunch from home I'd snag a couple fries from a friend but the food is NOT worth buying. The teachers are typically nice, but with every school, there are some who act like teens themselves, and others who wish beating students was still allowed. The pressure at school in combination with personal issues made it unbearable, and the school psych and guidance counselors were beyond underqualified. I would not recommend this school to anyone, especially those with mental disabilities like myself."

"Spring Valley holds "a tradition of excellence" like no other school. What I like most about the Valley is getting to know a lot of other students who came from disparate backgrounds. The large diverse population ha cast a huge effect on the school culture, as well as the variety of clubs and intramural programs that the school offers to help support the community. The staff here is pretty great, too! Some of the teachers that I have here are really cool and are willing to help me succeed and prepare for college. What I enjoy the MOST here are the athletic programs. I was given the opportunity to participate on one of the best track & field teams in South Carolina (maybe the nation). This school takes its winning tradition very seriously. (Especially on Homecoming Friday during Football season.) One thing I would change here is the availability of food. Spring Valley is a HUGE place. The more food, the better. Other then that, Spring Valley's a perfect place for the average student."

"I really enjoyed my time at Spring Valley. The academics are excellent, and I was so well prepared for college leaving this school. There were so many extracurricular activities to get involved in! The diversity and acceptance of the student body was something that I really respected. The only problems I ever found with the school was the nature of some of the school policies and the strength with which they were enforced by administration (i.e. dress code, etc.)."
