"Overall it was the best 4 years . but without JROTC i couldnt say that. Everyone has cliques and knows who theyre gonna hang with and the administration is trash expecially the counselors. If you want something done STAY ON THEM because if not it wont get done. But i enjoyed highschool And the safety is terrible you can literally walk right out that front door and get away with it and anybody who not a student could come in to. And the teaching quality depends on the teacher hope you have a good one that will actually teach. Half the time they give you an assignment and thats it class but i can say were probably the closest school every its like were all family. Even though we fight but we always stick up for our own. We also fun and lit activities that go on there like prom, Homecoming , basketball and football games and more. We also celebrate our AP students and honor roll kids to the fullest. But yea its not all bad but they have alot to work on ."

"My experience at Langston Hughes was interesting. It was awkward being a freshman in high school with no friends. Then soon enough I started making friends and getting the hang of how high school work. Some of the teachers was amazing ! They never moved on unless you got the lesson, never judged none of us because we didn't get it. If we ever decided to give up they pushed up to continue. We had a lot of fun times from prep rallys to just having music play in the morning to parades, and acknowledging the students who are doing better with their behavior. Things I would like to see change is the administration attitudes changes because they are horrible, now its a couple of them who has good attitudes and knows how to deal with situations but the others are mean and rude for no reason. Lastly is Security, I feel as though the security is bad they just unlock the door for anybody. The person in the front do not even look at the screen to she who she buzzing in and that is not safe."

"The school itself is very well maintained and clean both on the inside and the outside, however, the administration can be quite strict when it comes to certain rules such as dress codes and you're not allowed to carry book bags if you where wondering. Though, the school does provide a surface pro for every student so that you can get your work done. The teachers (at least the ones I've had) are very amible and actually teach, but like any person they will not allow constant interruption, so just do what you're told to do and you'll be fine."

"Langston Hughes is a legacy every student will want to be a part of. The campus is beautiful and the architecture itself is its own standard. The fine arts program is well developed and has many impressive results whether looking into music, visual art, or drama. The athletic department is on the path to becoming a well developed program as well. Students are given many opportunities to excel academically, as there are many advanced programs to supplement different learning styles."

"I like the opportunities to get involved with Langston Hughes. A student there has many options as far as clubs, sports, and academic opportunities. MOWR (Move on when ready)/dual enrollment, AP classes and college readiness classes such as AVID are highly promoted at Langston Hughes High School. There are fights that occur from time to time, but School staff take measures to decrease violence and dangerous incidents on campus, thus, making it much safer. The students are heavily involved in school spirit events and Langston attendees are generall tolerant towards others of different backgrounds and sexualities though there are intolerant and close minded individuals. The Langston experience is one of a kind since ot houses several types of people here . No one person is identical to the next and a visitor will have a unique experience as well."
