"I attended Marshall from my freshmen yr to my senior year with a little over 1000 students. They have great teachers that will teach if you want to learn and would stay after hours if you need the extra help. I was kind of a nerd so i stayed in the books most of the time. Majority of the staff and student body were African-American, with a few Caucasian , Latin, and Asian teachers. Every once in a while i would be at a sports event because they have a great sports program, at the time our main dominant sports were football and basketball. At the time the schools reputation was put on the line due to fights breaking out because of students with gang affiliation. i graduated in 2008 and i haven't stepped foot on Marshall grounds since but i hear its changed for the better. Overrall i had my share of fun at Marshall"

"What I like about Johnson Marshall metropolitan high school is that everybody is family . If you feel your not understanding something in class then you an the teacher make a time around your schedule and the teachers so you can make sure you can get it . And do better the next time. Things that I think should change is more evolvement with the freshman so student council . Can make more changes so we can feel more confident in doing sports and extracurricular activities ."

"I like that John Marshall is a changed school and the improvement they've worked on. If I was to change one thing it will be the city the school is in because of the violence in the Chicago area."

"Well my experience at John Marshall was okay for all the years i went there, but the things i want to see change here is the teaching methods and disciplinary system because the teachers are unorganized with their lesson plans , and the deans over discipline the students ."

"My experience at John Marshall highschool is an OK experience, not much diversity there and I find my previous high-school (wells Academy ) to be a heat better.I feel there could be way more activities that's interesting and much more trips and better food.Teachers in John Marshall don't understand how to interact with students and focus on the wrong thing .They enforce more rules than anything else they do there. I recommend no one send their child to that high school, it is a waste of time ."
