"A very safe place to learn! If you are a high-achieving student, you will be surrounded by like-minded peers who strive to aim high. One indicative part of Northwood's culture is its fashion - you will always see students who wear college sweaters around school."

"Northwood High is a great school and I enjoy my time there, but I feel that there is a lot of academic stress at the school. If you are not sleeping at 3am everyday then you are not studying enough. However, Northwood has many arts programs to help balance out this stress. For example Northwood's marching band is a huge group of students who are all friends and it is like a second family for many Northwood students."

"The overall rigor and drive implemented within the curriculum is what differentiates Northwood from other high schools in the area. The diverse setting and constantly improving atmosphere, such as Wellness Day, is what makes students enjoy attending Northwood. While the vertical alignment is more difficult and less obtainable than schools in the area, as a member of the WASC program, I was able to see changes our school wanted to make in order to benefit it's students and their vertical movement."

"Northwood is an amazing high school. The teachers are committed to developing a love for their subjects in their students. They encourage students to develop a thirst for knowledge and the ability to ask probing questions and think analytically. The performing and visual arts program are one of the best in the nation. The musicals and concerts presented by the school reflect the high standard that all the students expect from themselves and those around them. The athletic department has produced several very promising athletes, but generally the school is not known for being athletic excellence. One thing that people feel ambivalent towards is the competitive atmosphere of the school. It causes students to excel, but it can cause high levels of stress among the students. Ultimately, Northwood is a gem in the public education system that produces talented, passionate, and intelligent individuals."

"There so much to be involved with and it's a great place to learn. Students are all there to learn and teachers thrive knowing this. I wish there was more support for the wrestling team. Th re wasn't a coach for part of the year"
