"I liked how small it is, so you will never be lost. I would change the focus of the school. They care little for art programs and academic clubs. I would change the guidance faculty which shut down the students and the principal that insults students with mental illnesses."

"I found that the school worked hard to treat its students like adults and to give us all the knowledge we would need for our future. In my opinion the workload and classwork was just hard enough, I felt like I was being challenged but not like I was under so much pressure I would explode. When a friend of mine transferred in, she remarked that it was a lot more difficult than her last school. That she was being challenged more and it was harder to adjust. I never felt like I wasn't learning anything. I always felt like the teachers knew what they were doing and what they were talking about. Honestly, I would have hated going to school if it weren't the teachers actually teaching and not sugar coating things like history and health."

"The school itself was not my favorite place. I liked going to school because I enjoyed learning and it gave me something to do with my time. However, I didn't feel like a person was of any importance if they weren't involved in a sport. Jim Thorpe Area High School is considered to be small, and it resides in a small town, where the only thing that really matters is if you can throw/kick/hit a ball or cheer because that's the only entertainment. The staff, outside of the teachers, didn't know who you were unless you were one of those star athletes or a troublemaker."

"I found that the majority of the teachers at Jim Thorpe Area High School, at least in the ways of the Liberal Arts, were well equipped. The teachers themselves knew what they were doing and how they needed to teach the materials effectively. The teachers were usually helpful and according to the students, but did not allow students to take advantage of them. Like at any establishment, there are times when you will get a teacher that is burned out and doesn't want to really be teaching anymore, I personally felt that was few and far between."

"Lots of different sexual orientation. Religion isn't too huge, nor the diversity. But acceptacne is great. And there is little peer pressure"
