"The name, "School for the Visual Arts and Humanities," is not to be taken lightly: despite being a small public school with fair amounts of weaknesses, visual arts and humanities strongly manifest in this school. During my 2 years in this school since Freshman year, my life has gone from "Inferno/Hell" to "Paradise/Heaven" due to its diverse, happy, and supportive culture and its focus on the concept of "school family". With the importance of "humanities," our teachers subtly maintain and stress the importance of it to avoid making us "study machines." Then, "visual arts" come into play by letting our "human soul and mind" express its imagination and beauty upon our works; this is what sets it apart from other "generic" high schools. The general academics may be - at best - average, but it is offset by multitudes of opportunities this school provides. This school is phenomenal to its own unique way (which is the point), and will certainly change lives. Go SVAH!"

"The experience at the School for the Visual Arts and Humanities is really awesome. You get to meet teachers that just really pay attention to you and really care about you. I have several teachers that I really opened up to and told them all of my problems academically and personally. It is really a wonderful school!"

"I have attended school for the visual arts and humanities for 4 years. I am now a senior. When I first went to that school I didn't know any of the things I know now. The skills they teach you come in really handy! I'm really great full for the teachers there and for what they have taught me. I feel like I've learned new things that I never knew before and I can actually use them in the future. What I would like to see change at my school is just the food ! Everything overall is great but I think better food would make it 100% the best school of all!"

"The way the teachers interact with the students inside and outside the class are very satisfactory to the students that need more care and attention."
