"Small class sizes, rural and small town feeling. Caring teachers and coaches. Could use more diversity in sports and clubs."

"My experience at Blue Ridge was great; and days after graduation, I'm wishing that I was still there. Blue Ridge is a small sized school. This trait allows students to form relationships with their teachers that they might not be able to have at bigger schools. Blue Ridge also offers many clubs and activities ranging from Prom Committee, Key Club, FFA, etc. However, the one thing that I would like to change is the participation and recognition of the Fine Arts. The school has always put on amazing band concerts, art shows, and theater productions. A way to highlight these outstanding performances would be to provide an auditorium. Currently, all events in the art department are held in Moore Gymnasium. This gym only provides a small stage and some bleachers. I believe it would be a great idea to collect funds to restore the area into a beautiful auditorium where students and community members can enjoy for years. Overall, Blue Ridge is a great school and I'm proud to be a Knight."

"As a Senior of BRHS I would like to see the academics improve. I don't think we are all ready for college classes. Part of this is due to the common core curriculum and part of this is the teaching methods of some of the teachers. Besides that I have had a great experience there."

"Lots of the teachers try to involve the students and almost all of the teachers are available after school to help if you are struggling. Certain teachers do tend to have favorites. Most of the teachers are really good at explaining the material. Some teachers lecture and others do notes slides but they all seem to have a good understanding of the materials they are teaching. I would say the Spanish department needs extra work. The teacher gets off topic really easy and to be completely honest she usually doesn't know what she's talking about."

"The parents are kind of supportive but really only care about their own children."
