"Manhattan Hunter Science High School provides a unique experience where seniors take courses as CUNY Hunter College. Although the education that is received is above average for a New York City Public School, the location of the school within MLK is not the best. Having to wait in line every morning to go through metal detectors to attend classes makes the commute much longer."

"My experience at Hunter has been absolutely terrible. Most of the teachers are terrible and underqualified, there have been numerous bullying incidents (both teachers bullying students and other students bullying their peers) which have gone without consequence, and the general consensus is that most if not all students either do not have the will to come to school every day because of how horrible it is or are miserable and unheard by staff. I truly believe my score was generous; there are very few key staff members that care about students and the truth is we all just can't wait to get off of MLK campus and get to the college."

"Teachers are super caring and attentive. However, there is a lot of pressure for students to pursue STEM careers. The school itself only has activities primarily targeting STEM careers while neglecting humanities."

"Hunter isna great schooo. The staff are good teachers and they help you understand a topic if you do not get it the first time. They will help you in any way they can in and out of the classroom. Even if you are at home all you have to do is shoot the teacher you want a message at a decent hour and they will respond. The school itself is great. There is artwork hanging around and the ceiling is painted in different colors in different hallways. It really livens up the space. MHSHS is a really good school."
