"Maine South is a great high school. My son has a learning disability, and I am very pleased with his accommodations. The majority of his teachers were pleasant and easy to work with."

"I liked how much Maine South felt like home. The teachers are always there to help you and make you feel safe and comfortable. They take care of problems when you go to them and try their best to help so succeed and accomplish your dreams. There is a lot to get involved in at Maine South, and if there isn't a club you wish they had, then you can start one. I didn't like how mean and judgemental some of the students could be. There were obvious "groups" of people and the "popular" group would always look down on those around them. I would love to see those groups go away and for Maine South to become a school where kids don't judge other kids; they just have their friends and make everyone at the school feel comfortable in their own skin."

"Maine South is an prime example of what a high school should be. With great academics, teachers, school culture, and the resources provided, it is no surprise that this school is one of the best in the state. Some changes that I would personally make as a Junior at Maine South high school are the diversity and the food provided. There is very little diversity of students and teachers through the entire school and I feel like different cultures are not completely represented because of the lack of diversity. The food is decent, what you'd expect of a typical high school, but I believe it is overpriced for what it is and it doesn't seem sanitary. Overall, however, Maine South truly achieves excellence and never stops impressing me as the years go by!"

"It is really cliquey, but the teachers are very helpful and after school activities are fun. However, some of the teachers don't put a lot of effort into teaching students, and can be sometimes lazy."

"I have done a variety of activities offered at Maine South High School over my 4 years spent in the hell hole known as high school, and this school has become exceedingly Marxist with it's requirements and rhetoric with their below average faculty and deans. However, there were still a few teachers who immensely inspired in an overall mildly competitive atmosphere."
