"Excellent staff and facilities, caring and diverse environment. Lots of opportunities to get involved. "Small school" feel."

"I went here from 9 to 12 and currently attend a top 10 university. I was better prepared for university than any of my college friends, many of whom went to other prestigious private high schools. One thing that sets Head-Royce apart is the dedication to teaching a curriculum that is designed to do more than maximize AP classes. I entered college with "only" 4 AP class credits (which has not been detrimental in any way) because I took classes about the philosophy of western civilizations, art history, Islam today, and molecular genetics. I find these classes to be far more interesting and impactful upon my intellectual development than AP literature or any other classes taught purely for the purpose of passing a test."

"close-knit community, very good preparation for college, teachers and staff care a lot if you care a lot, beautiful campus, however their drive to be more technologically advanced took away from the traditional teaching that some teachers were used to and changed the atmosphere a bit, they do their best to honor diversity but it can be lacking at times, good network of parent interaction, girls have been rumored to be more "catty" than at other schools and this can be true most likely due to the "small bubble" feeling, lots of activities and camping trips, sports are not very intimidating but school spirit is definitely present, food is great, college advisors help to the best of their ability and are very calming and reliable presences during the chaos of the college application process, overall an above average but not fantastic experience socially, but great experience academically."

"Excellent teachers and academic resources! Many of the women's sports are phenomenal, however they could be better supported by the athletic department and administration."

"I love this school, the only reason it didn't receive 5 stars cause we need to work on more racial, religious, and intellectual diversity."
