"Transferring as a junior at La Sierra from a private school in a different country, I had a bit of a culture shock when I realized how easy the teachers were teaching students. Science teachers that I've known have given out lectures by simply reading off powerpoint presentation slides and giving out packets for students to work on. I hope that in the future, teachers will become more strict with their students and change their teaching habits so that students may push themselves to excel academically and to involve themselves in the community."

"La Sierra has great resources, administration & staff. Something I would like to see is school spirit, More events that will get students excited to participate in."

"La Sierra High School is a very good school. Most of the teachers I've had are very good and the atmosphere itself is great. The students, aren't very problematic there's is only like 3 fights per year. There are many clubs on campus that really help out the students wanting to attend college like, Csf (California scholarship foundation), and National Honors Society, to name a few. They also have amazing classes for students that want to attend college like Avid, and for those who want to persuade a medical field like Health Acadmy. Also the students are very involved with the school and the students, like ASB and Link Crew! We also have a great school spirit and are always encouraging each other to Score High like an Eagle!!"

"I liked the fact that the campus was open and the staff was relatively nice. It is in a rough area and the students are no different. If anything, I would like to see that change. Also, many of the students are unmotivated and drop out."

"School for my first 3 years was adequate. I was getting straight A's and taking multiple AP classes. I encountered many great and wonderful teachers but I have also had my fair share of inept and sub-par teachers. These teachers would assign copious amounts of busy work and would not prepare the students for the AP exam, which is the whole point of the class. Others would have poor communication with students and ridicule and berate students sarcastically if they were wrong. For my senior year, i was forced to choose between two AP classes I wanted to take, AP Gov and AP Statistics and ended up taking AP Gov. I was planning on taking 6 AP classes, but we had to drop AP Econ and AP Environmental Science. I ended up taking 4 AP's which is going to drop my 4.7 Gpa most likely and result in me getting less credits for college."
