"With everyone putting effort into their schoolwork and activities, there seems to be a lack of generousness in social life. Most people are fine with their friend groups, but there's not a lot of warmth or easy-going nature between most people here. There's a little bit of tension between everyone, whether it be stress from schoolwork or divides between political opinion (communist and capitalist students were being politically active, but not in a friendly way) I generally wish there was a bit more relaxation and less judgement. I think UHS could really improve if people didn't complain about their school work. UHS students are caught in this cycle where complaining seems to be the norm, and by complaining, you're creating stress, which encourages the norm of complaining. In summary, you will get a rigorous and awesome education, but the school is filled with stressed-out complainers and UHS won't really affect your college path."

"If there is one unique thing about UHS, it is the quality of the teaching. Teachers can be hard, but pretty much all of them want to help you and enjoy teaching. There are lots of extracurriculars and activities, but it's easy to overload your schedule as many students do. There are some peices of the school that are a work in progress, like the human development and cultural competency programs. Those programs and associated groups have caused many headaches. But overall the academic and social experience here has been positive."

"If you notice, most of the 5 star reviews are made at the same time. Most of the students are very stuck up. Some teachers are ok."

"Pretty academically rigorous. A pressure cooker. Academics are good but the people are very elitist and some are very racist."
