"Being a student at Independence High School from since 2014, I have learned so much and have been given incredible support from those around me. Including the wonderful friends I have acquired, the staff including teachers and counselors have given me the care and guidance I have been so fortunate to have in my years at Independence. Infamous for its "gangster" reputation, my experience at IHS has disproved so many of the rumors; we are a school with countless resources and opportunities: ranging from the plethora of AP classes, sports, music, and extracurricular clubs. Consisting of a heavily diverse student demographic, the campus warmly welcomes new, current, and past students."

"I like that it is a friendly campus and there is a lot of activities to be done there. Some teachers are interesting and you can learn a lot from them. The negative side is the food and the location. The food is really bad and if you are paying for it, it is better to just bring stuff from home. The location is the main problem that this school consider the least favorite due to all the gang relate and drug problem. I would recommend that by all mean just avoid drugs or hang out in the shady area."

"I had a very positive experience at Independence High School, taking marching band through all four years. My last two years, I was fortunate to become Drum Major. The experience has been nothing but positive. I hope to become a teacher of Music. Music is something we all have in common, even though different genres of music may appeal to each of us. Being in the band has taught me how to relate to each individual in the band, but what I love about the band is that we all are like one big family, and bonds are built that go beyond our high school years."

"Your typical High school. Very Diverse with tons of different cultures throughout the different quadrants. My favorites are the language teachers and mathematics teachers, they put a lot of care into their students. School also has sports that are available for students and they really help shape each individuals personality."
