"Santa Monica High is strong academically and extracurricularly. Also, we have a pretty diverse campus and I feel very prepared for college because of Santa Monica High's rigorous curriculum. I've been fortunate to have great teachers at Samohi, but also not so fortunate to have pretty terrible teachers. But, that's just the high school experience. The teachers and administrators have always maintained an atmosphere of safety and security. The only things I didn't like about Samohi were the bathrooms, the lockers, many of the students and the lunch situations. For me, academics and extracurriculars, like Orchestra and photography are what holds most of my interest, so I didn't get much out of the school spirit or school culture. It's a really big school, so you'll be able to find at least one person that you connect with. There are lots of clubs and electives to take. All in all, it's a great school."

"As a Samohi Junior, I can say from my previous experience that I have had a very pleasant and enriched experience as of so far. The introduction of the new Innovation Building and Science Quad just made the academic experience a lot more valuable. Nearly everything about the school is perfect for any high school student aiming for college or university life; with plenty of AP classes, an award winning music program, Division 1 sports, and plenty of language classes to choose from. The only thing I was disappointed in were the poor condition of the bathrooms. Very Great school. Also right by the beach."

"The beginning of High School can be very frightening and exciting to kids promoting from 8th grade. Transferring into Santa Monica High School second semester of my freshman year I was extremely scared. "What if I don't have friends?" "How are the teachers?" And/or "What if I don't fit in?". I however didn't have to worry about that at all.Coming to this high school was one of the best decisions I had ever made.Santa Monica High School is a School with at least 3,000 students, the most interracial school with admiring and supportive teachers. We aren't just friends to each other rather we are family. We come together to help one another as students, teachers, admistrators, counselors, maintanence, and principals. I would truly recommend this School to any kid promoting to high school/transferring."
