"It's expensive school, but the teachers are really old and uncompetitive. And they really do not care of their students. Students are not smart kids either. Don't expect that SSFS will care of your kids. If you have the same amount of money, I am sure that other private schools care and teach more."

"Sandy Spring teaches you not just how to learn, but also how to listen and interact and be a good member of a community. From the personalized attention shown to each student to its foundation in Quakerism, SSFS puts the student first. Teachers will stop at no ends to make sure all students feel included and prepared to be a well-rounded and contributing member to society when they graduate. They want all their students to flourish academically and socially in preparing them for college and the world beyond and want all who pass through their doors to recognize that there is "that of God" in all humans."

"I began attending Sandy Spring in the 8th grade and I stayed until senior year. I can honestly say that SSFS was the best thing that has happened to me. I learned to find my voice in a community that is accepting to all. Even after graduating, I remain close with my teachers and have some of the most meaningful relationships with so many people in the community. Sandy Spring gives you the opportunity to be who you want to be, but also encourages you to be the best person you can be. The quaker values that are instilled in you throughout your time at Sandy Spring are invaluable. I will forever be grateful for what Sandy Spring has done for me and any student that gets the opportunity to attend SSFS is so incredibly lucky."

"I have issues with the administration at times, but overall I have been very happy with my experience at Sandy Spring Friends School. I came from a very small school, and while SSFS is not exceedingly large, it is certainly larger than my last school. In spite of this, I found that I almost immediately made friends, and within a few weeks had strong relationships with my teachers. There is no typical SSFS student, we're all kind of quirky, but in our own way. Because of this I have been able to spend my time with a variety of different people, from preppy kids to goth kids to bookish kids. Bullying has never been an issue for me personally, but when an issue arises the school takes it seriously and helps to resolve the issue immediately. There is no "kids just being kids" response. If the problem ends up being nothing, then the school will leave it there. I would strongly recommend SSFS."

"My overall experience with the teachers at Sandy Spring Friends School has been positive. The teachers are supportive and intelligent, with the add bonus of being available outside of class to work with struggling students. Many teachers are very friendly and open with the students, while others remain more distant, but all of my teachers have been valuable resources."
