"Beacon is a great school, but there are many social issues among the students and the school is driven by fundraising and "recommend" $1000 per household. On the other hand, Beacon has helped me greatly prepare for my college process and academics."

"This school is not diverse at all. The school is filled with majority of white students and they don't even bother trying to diversify. Some teachers are extremely racist and bias towards a particular group of students. Overall I would not recommend this school."

"Great school, really prepares you for the college experience. Huge fan of the dance program, but am partial to all of the arts programs."

"Most teachers throughout all the academic departments instruct students well, engaging them in class discussions, and are very supportive, offering flexible tutoring hours. The workload is rigorous, throughout all four years, though it pays off because Beacon prepares its students very much for post secondary study. It is strong in the arts (the building and facilities themselves are works of art), offering many clubs; if a club does not exist, students are allowed to create them. While Beacon is a large high school, the environment is friendly and open to all. Overall, my experience at Beacon, despite its demanding workload, will always be a memorable one."

"Beacon is really great once you get in. It is predominately white and can be frustrating because a lot of students have gotten in for unfair reasons, but there is always at least one faculty member you can go to who will help. The school wants you to succeed and if that sounds too cheesy, then the school wants you to succeed for its reputation. School work is tough, but most teachers are extremely understanding and accommodating if you talk to them."
