"The school itself is actually really good. The advanced classes prepare you well for college and really teach you how to manage your time with studying and extracurricular activities. The teachers are really awesome for the most part, and the electives they offer are really broad and interesting. School spirit is lacking but that has been improving since I graduated."

"Overall, Smithson Valley is a great school. Football is more important as a whole than Academics. There are lots of opportunities for students, but they're not easily accessible to all students."

"Great teachers and academics if you challenge yourself. There is a huge emphasis on sports rather than other clubs and activities, but there are still ways to get involved. However, the school spirit is extremely weak."

"I like all the friends I made, and some of the teachers are truly invested in their job and want to help you. Although the administration cares more about dress code than learning, and some teachers don't care about your education enough."

"SV is going to be one of my worst memories when I looked back on my life. I have never been bullied, harrased and tormented so much in my life by administration and students. I dread going to school, since the beginning I have been planning to graduate early because of all of the singling out. I know others who are also graduating early because they can not stand to stay at SV. If you are not in a sport or FFA you are nothing to this school, and when you're bullied, even seriously contemplating suicide, SV won't do anything. We even had two girls commit suicide because of bullying. I've written many statements about the bullying and I have not received back. SV has taken away every ounce of motivation in me to further my education."
