A 31-year veteran of the real estate industry, Kunz has spent two-thirds of his career affiliated with the CENTURY 21 System, where he established a successful track record involving franchise sales and ownership as well as running all aspects of brokerage and franchise operations. Since joining the CENTURY 21 System in 1982, Kunz has been responsible for everything from field communication, franchise sales, systems implementation, system-wide recruiting, broker automation, and regional development.
Kunz served in a succession of increasingly responsible field and headquarters executive positions for Century 21 Real Estate LLC. Among the highlights of his career as part of the CENTURY 21 System is his role as a member of the team that developed franchise sales tools that are still used today to train franchise sales staff for all Realogy Corporation real estate brands.
In 2001, he became senior vice president of real estate franchise sales for Cendant in the western region of the United States. In this role, he was responsible for oversight of the franchise sales efforts for the CENTURY 21, Coldwell Banker®, Coldwell Banker Commercial® and ERA® real estate brands in 17 western states and facilitated and completed the renewal of the third largest franchisee in the CENTURY 21 System.
Prior to his appointment as president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate LLC, Kunz served for two years as president of CENTURY 21 Award, an independently owned and operated real estate brokerage with 12 offices and 750 sales associates and employees located throughout San Diego and Riverside counties in California.
Under Kunz's leadership, CENTURY 21 Award was ranked as the No. 2 company in the entire CENTURY 21 System in 2003, generating more than $2 billion in closed sales volume and $53 million in adjusted gross commissions. The firm also ranked in the top 10 nationally among all CENTURY 21 affiliates with 5,733 closed transaction sides last year.
Prior to entering the real estate field in 1982, Kunz owned his own employment agency and served as president of a software company. Kunz, who served in the U.S Army in Vietnam, attended Weber State University and the University of Utah. He is a member of the board of directors for Easter Seals Southern California. Since the inception of its philanthropic partnership in 1979, the CENTURY 21 System has contributed more than $95 Million to Easter Seals.
Leonard oversees critical brand functions including national service planning and execution, internal operations, the national training platform and the System 21® business consulting program.
Leonard came into the role of chief operating officer for Century 21 Real Estate LLC with more than three decades of professional experience in the area of franchise operations and sales, most recently with McDonald's Japan where he held the position of chief operating officer, senior vice president and served as a member of the organization's board of directors. Leonard held roles of increasing responsibility within the McDonald's organization dating back to 1976.
Thorne earned her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has worked extensively in the areas of consumer marketing, strategic branding and event marketing management over her twenty-plus year career. She has a wealth of experience working with organizations modeled like the CENTURY 21 System. Most recently she was with JPMorgan Chase & Company where she served as senior vice president, customer marketing for the Home Finance business unit. Prior to that, Thorne worked at AT&T for nearly two decades in a series of increasingly senior roles, planning and executing marketing and communications strategies nationwide. She was instrumental in key telecommunications initiatives that spanned from the launch of cellular service to AT&T's return to the local service market. Her experiences at AT&T included product management, sales management and targeted market management. She and her husband are raising three children on a tree farm in Central New Jersey.
