PARSIPPANY, N.J., (September 23, 2008) —

Century 21 Real Estate LLC today announced October as National Open House Month. Following its successful Spring open house month promotion in April, CENTURY 21® offices around the country will hold Fall open house events for thousands of property listings throughout the month of October. In April 2008, the number of CENTURY 21 open houses increased four-fold from April 2007.

"Based on the success of our previous National Open House Month, we decided to again make it convenient for consumers to tour as many CENTURY 21 open houses as possible during October, and at the same time generate energy in the market this Fall," said Tom Kunz, president and chief executive officer of Century 21 Real Estate LLC. "We are also hoping to use our National Open House Month as a platform for our real estate professionals to help educate eligible buyers and make them aware of the benefits of the First-Time Homebuyer Federal Tax Credit that is now in effect and available to them for a limited period of time."

The First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit is one provision of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. Eligible first-time homebuyers can receive a $7,500 tax credit for a home purchased on or after April 9, 2008 and before July 1, 2009. To qualify, one must close on the sale of the home during this period. The law defines a first-time homebuyer as a U.S. citizen who has not owned a home during the past three years and has paid U.S. taxes.*
