24 February 2019 Dear Century 21, We first met Steve and Skye in June 2015 when we purchased our cottage in Iola. The entire process was so seamless and enjoyable that we contacted them again last month after viewing a prospective property online. Some of the north central Wisconsin realtors we recently experienced seemed apathetic and scheduled showings were delayed because a 24 hour notice was required. When we telephoned Steve to inquire about the Oshkosh property, we were delightedly stunned by his response, "That house is vacant. When would you like to see it?" We met him two hours later and we formulated questions as we walked through the home. Later that evening Steve called with the answers to our inquiries. The following day we requested another showing with the possibility of making an offer. Once again Steve quickly arranged the meeting. Steve became our buyer's agent after clearly explaining the role. Being considerate of our time, Steve listed options to begin the offer process, e.g. immediately at the property, at his office, or through email. That was unexpected because when we made an offer on a Wisconsin Rapids home, the realtor provided no alternative but to meet at his office. Steve was adept at assisting us in prioritizing the conditions included in our offers and counteroffers. Steve was efficient in communicating with us via telephone calls, emails, and text messages. Often these occurred during the evening hours proving that Steve has an exceptional work ethic. We trusted Steve and that deepened as he (1) independently contacted the roofer to clarify the work that had been completed for the sellers, (2) requested and carefully reviewed receipts, (3) obtained a copy of the sellers' appraisal, and (4) consistently monitored the conditions outlined in our offers. During our final walk-through we discovered two unattended offer conditions. Anticipating that we would have to postpone the closing or perhaps relinquish the property, Steve unbelievably persevered. He arranged for a plumber, representing our interests, to accompany him to insure the sellers' plumber completed the work stipulated in our counteroffer. We closed as expected and we cannot satisfactorily express our gratitude. Steve is well known and connected to the Fox Valley area. He willingly recommended electricians, fence installers, tree-trimmers, implement dealers, etc. Most of their services we have pursued. Throughout this process, Steve was an active listener, competent, proactive, prompt, efficient, flexible, and personable. (A note exclusively from Lori – Steve and my husband bantered, teased, and joked - so it was fun!) Other realtors and prospective realtors should crave to meet the standards set by Steve Meidam. Without a doubt he exhibits the attributes to train and lead others. Our plan is to sell the property(ies) in approximately five years. We will see Steve and the lovely Skye again.
