I began my home journey Mid-March of 2023 as a newly divorced almost 50year old first time home buyer. I had been renting for 12 years and received short notice I would need to vacate due to the owner wanting to sell the property. After finding a realtor through a friend, I quickly learned that as a first-time home buyer, having an experienced realtor was a must. After watching as every home I was interested in or put an offer in fall through, event going under contract on two homes only to have it fall through on a technicality, I began to realize that my realtor was not the one for me. Don't get me wrong, my original realtor was very sweet and a wonderful person, but new to the real estate game and it showed. By May, I was in tears at the thought of having to rent again. I was ready to give up. I told my Mortgage Broker Angela that I was done. I had given up. Angela assured me that she knew of a realtor that could do the impossible and set up a meeting for me. Skeptical, I agreed to give my home buying journey one more chance. Thats when I was introduced to Tresa Hunter and the whole game changed. I knew immediately that this Lady was the real deal. After a lengthy conversation of my needs, wish list and hopes for my new home she told me that she would be ready to show me homes the next day. Still jaded from my previous experience, I agreed to give Tresa the opportunity to "work her magic" and find me my home. And my o my did she not disappoint. Prepared from the minute she unlocked the door on one of many homes we toured, had researched all the properties, had already targeted in on two homes that were perfect for me and my needs. When we left the last house, which is located on the very street behind my oldest son and my only grandbaby, I decided to put in a offer but couldn't shake the feelings of doubt based off of my previous experience with my other realtor. Tresa had my home locked in and under contract within 24hrs of me first laying eyes on it. From that day on I knew she was the best. Daily check ins, updates and words of encouragement from her helped ease my fears and doubts about homebuying. Tresa was so patient and kind to me even during my panic moments. Every bump in the road we hit getting to closing, Tresa was right there, smoothing it out. She worked with my Mortgage team diligently to ensure that I got my home. On Closing Day, she was right there with me, like a lifelong friend. I will forever be thankful to Tresa and everyone involved in making my dream a reality. I still tear up as I am sitting in my beautiful backyard watching my grandbaby play thinking to myself "This Is My Home"
